Private Music Instruction

I am fortunate to have been a private music instructor for 25 years .I started with the help of Harry Leahy, former guitarist with Jerry         Mulligan and Phil woods .Many folks know Phil for his sax solo on the Steely Dan classic ,Asia .
Harry was my teacher and an amazing musician I looked up to .He saw something in me that I didn't at the time .He sent me on my first teaching position .He taught in the Jazz Dept of William Paterson College in New Jersey .
His ability to develope the musical source in me is what I try to pass on to my students .Its the understanding of the basics with a creative drive to find your own musical voice. We all have it. It's being open to working hard and finding that place in you. That's when the fun begins .
You can catch Harry performing if you Google his name with Jazz guitarist from New Jersey .Harry left this earth in the late 80's after a brave battle with cancer .I don't know where I would be today if He hadn't reached out and given me the opportunity He did .He was a seed bearer of the future of music and I try to carry on with the tradition .
I am open for new students all the time .I teach guitar ,electric bass ,trumpet ,drums , beginner to intermediate piano .I also love to work with songwriters .
Every student is a unique person with their own set of needs and abilities . Thats the way I approach all my students.
I keep learning as I keep teaching .Thats why I am looking forward to many more years of working with students .
Thanks to all who have worked with me in the past ,the present and too the future !
